Fishing

From spring to early fall angling enthusists will be thrilled by the variety of game fish in our area. Troll for big rainbow or char in our deep water, or fly-fish trophy lakes and rivers. You can also spin-cast from the dock, or test your flycasting skills in our hike-in or fly-in wilderness lakes. At Nechako Lodge we can offer it all.

Rainbow trout are present in almost all lakes and streams, and their famous fighting spirit makes them the top choice of our guests. Almost all populations in the Upper Nechako Region are native, and the few select lakes that were stocked in the past are now yielding trophy fish.

Other game fish of this region include, Lake trout, Dolly Varden, Kokanee, Burbot and Whitefish... they'll also provide you with an exciting angling experience.

We will be happy to cook your "keepers" and serve them to you in the dining room.

In our tackle shop you can stock up on locally successful flies, lures and other fishing necessities and buy your BC fishing license. The tying table in the lodge is available for you if you like to tie your own flies.

If you'd like a guide to accompany you on your outing, need advice on matching the current hatches, or want to rent a boat or float tube, just ask and we'll do our best to take care of your needs.

A discount on accommodation is available to guests who practice catch and release.
